Local Footpath Secretaries
Local Footpath Secretaries monitor the state of footpaths in our area, and may look after one or more parishes.
In the first year it is usual for the Secretary to walk all the paths in a parish and, then later, concentrate on those with more problems.
The Local Footpath Secretary may be asked to provide information or comment if a planning application or diversion is proposed.
Our area is divided into 34 parishes and we have local footpath secretaries for 28 of the parishes.
The following parishes are without a local representative: Arundel, Climping, Houghton, South Stoke, Upper Beeding, Yapton
If you live in or near any of these vacant parishes and feel that you could give a little time and effort in one (or more) parish it would be greatly appreciated.
Guidance and support will always be given, and for further information, please contact Mike Charman or other member of the committee.
Without a designated footpath secretary in each parish there is a risk that the footpaths may become less accessible
