Main purpose of the role:

To communicate and promote the work of the Ramblers in the Group using the internet to the Group membership and beyond to the wider public. By doing this, the aim is to inform people of the concerns facing walkers locally and the valuable work of the Group to address them.   The website is also a platform to publicise the Groups walk’s programme, although this should be done through Walks and Event Manager on the central Ramblers website.

The website can therefore be used as a tool to strengthen the Group, encouraging members and the public to see the relevance of the Group, to join the Ramblers and to encourage more active involvement in pursuit of the Ramblers aims.

What we need from you:

• A passion for walking and an affinity with all the charitable aims of the Ramblers
• Good written communication skills, able to present the work of the Ramblers and the issues it faces in clear, jargon free language
• Good knowledge of basic website management
• Creative flair to give the website an attractive look and feel

Duties: Primary         

• To maintain a Group website updated both in content and structure
• To gather information from office holders, local groups or central office communications to make interesting or relevant reading for members and non-members.
